Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
This year has been a hard one for most people and one of changes. With COVID 19 continuing, road resurfacing and power cuts that knocked us out for days. And hopefully next year will be better with people getting jabbed and wearing masks.
But things have not all been bad. This year we moved from the old Clock Shop across the road to Alston Emporium in October 2021. Next year we plan to have the front room ready for talks, workshops and other events with our varied and brilliant local authors and poets. Something we have not been able to do for the last two years due to Covid safety requirements. We are apart of the bookshop.org website and you can help us by shopping via our bookshop by searching for our bookshop or via our link https://uk.bookshop.org/shop/OnceUponaTimebookshop
Shopping online with bookshop.org helps out small bookshops up and down the country and supports authors and publishers.
This Christmas we were asked by our local amazing schools help with gifting 162 books to the young students. That they should be open tomorrow or already. And we will continue to support the school and the great new Headteacher Mrs Gill Jackson, the staff and the students in reading and literacy into the future.
This month we have three new authors in the bookshop:
“There’ll Always Be Appleby” Appleby Gypsy Horse Fair: History, Mythology, Evaluation by Andrew Connell - £12.99
A Pictorial Guide To The North Pennines: An Illustrated Account of a Study and Exploration of the Mountains in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty BOOK ONE: The Western Fells by Michael Quinn - £15
Snail had a Moustache by Christian Senior - £6.99
